Meet the teacher
Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Mrs. Prades and I am thrilled to be your child’s fourth grade teacher! Welcome to the start of another great year! I am so excited to be getting back to a more "normal" school year. I hope that you have all enjoyed your summer break and are ready to start anew.
Please allow me to introduce myself and give you a bit of background on my own educational experiences. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. During that time, I had the opportunity to study abroad in England and travel around Europe. After graduation, I taught sixth grade for three years prior to coming to Lockport. This is now my eighth year teaching fourth grade here at Kelvin Grove. I enjoy reading, being active, exploring the outdoors, spending time with family, and traveling.
I anticipate a successful year and want to maintain effective communication with you. During the school day, I can be reached by email at [email protected], a Parent Square message, or a written note. Before 8:15 a.m. and after 3:20 p.m., I can also be reached by phone at 815-838-0737, extension 1144. My phone will not ring aloud during the school day, but messages can be left during this time. If you leave a voice message on the phone during the school day, please understand that I will do my best to return your call as quickly as I can. If you have an urgent message for your child, please call the Kelvin Grove office and leave a message with a secretary.
Thank you in advance for all of your support and communication this year! I look forward to meeting you and hope to see you at Expectation Night on September 7th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Prades
